We picked up our baby Airstream on Saturday morning from Bonnie & J.R. White, a wonderful couple who we plan on keeping up with (they love antiques & old stuff as much as we do and are definitely great folks!).  It's a '62 Globetrotter! Left Bristol, Virginia, in sleet and rain and heavy wind with me almost crying & Ronnie driving "white knuckled." But when we got to Knoxville, TN, pulling the Airstream with my 4-Runner was a "piece of cake!"  We were so excited that instead of spending the night somewhere, we drove straight thru (I know! That was DUMB!).  Stopped in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Meridian about 11:00 p.m. and Grae brought us supper (by the way, the Crescent City Grill has MARVELOUS burgers!) and we ate in the Airstream.  All agreed that it holds 3 grown-ups perfectly, 4 would be close, and more than that, forget it!  Perfect for Ronnie, Blu, Zoe, a couple of cats  & me --- or Ronnie, Blu, ALL the cats & me -- or maybe the cats would prefer staying home!  We discussed all our "Name the Baby Airstream" submittals and unfortunately no one won (guess the "prize winners" name will have to be drawn from an aluminum bowl!)  We both kept going back to calling it "The Dixie Tramper" which is on an old made-in-Cleveland, Mississippi, equipment sign that belonged to our bestest ever bud and forever friend, Randy Harding, who I know was riding with us in spirit every mile of the way!  We talked about how Randy went with us to pick it up MS Fairchild and that he would have loved this adventure too!  On the way home, I also made up a song about "The Dixie Tramper" and "may" share a rendition when  we have our "Trailer Blessing."

Tramper is sitting in our driveway which is quite interesting for "Fashionable (formerly maybe) Northeast Jackson"  -- especially since Gump is sitting on the car trailer right next to it!  I am sure the words "trailer trash" are being whispered around the neighborhood!

During the ride, a piece of our toilet broke and since the toilet is as old as the trailer, we have a problem because they don't make the part anymore!  May have to get a new throne!  Other than that, I think all systems are "go!"  They need to be because we are headed to Chickashay (spelling ?), Oklahoma, next week for our 1st great trailer adventure.  There is going to be a swap meet which I hope has a few trailer parts thrown in with the old car parts because that's all Ronnie's thinking about right now !  He wants 4 original moon hubcaps and "wide white" walls immediately!   I can see that even though Tramper is in excellent shape, he is going to want to add accessories and keep it polished (just like the head bolts on Ms Fairchild!).  All I want is the missing "T" from GlobeTrotter (Grae pointed out that we were Globe Rotters & that's rather offensive!)

This is enough -- I need a cup of coffee and a bagel !

May your life be full of GREAT ADVENTURES & may you, like that wonderful Tim McGraw song says, "Live Like You Were Dying"
